What it is
HPE carries a broad server range, and the ProLiant family has been among the most widely deployed servers anywhere for over thirty years. Configurable for virtualization, AI workloads, databases, file servers, data management systems or backup storage.
Where the difference actually shows
Not in the specifications, in the lifecycle. Through HPE Compute Ops Manager the servers are managed centrally from the GreenLake portal, and firmware and driver updates are planned there rather than host by host.
That is where a server estate differs in practice: not how fast it is on day one, but how much work it makes in year three.
What is current
The newest member is the Gen 12 generation, built around Intel’s Xeon generation 6. Current AMD Zen 5 CPUs still fit the Gen 11 architecture and remain available there, which can decide a purchase.
